New 2-1-1 Community Liaison
Back in July, United Way of Larimer County made the decision to move 2-1-1 services to Mile High United Way. While the 2-1-1 phone number will direct to the Mile High United Way call center, the service being provided to the Larimer County community has not changed.
As part of this decision, measures were taken to ensure that the staff at Mile High United Way were fully trained in Larimer County resources. We also created a new 2-1-1 Community Liaison position based in the United Way of Larimer County office in Fort Collins.
This liaison is responsible for keeping Larimer County resources up to date, and communicating that information with the Mile High United Way staff. This is the key piece ensuring that services provided to the Larimer County community retain the same level of quality, and that everyone has the information necessary to make that happen.
Without further ado, we are excited to introduce Teri Dyer as our new 2-1-1 Community Liaison. Teri comes to us with 2 years of experience supporting Boulder county as a Long-Term Flood Recovery Case Manager. This experience, along with her degree in Emergency Management make her especially suited to this position. When not working at United Way, Teri runs a small farm with over 30 animals, including chickens, goats, and eventually a miniature pig.
Teri will be attending a variety of upcoming events as our 2-1-1 Community Liaison, including:
Family Safety and Emergency Preparedness Expo. - Saturday, September 24th
Legal Resource Day - Friday, September 30
2-1-1 is a hotline service connecting you to community services in Larimer County. Individuals contact 2-1-1 every day with questions regarding disaster recovery, aging services, donation referrals, food assistance, housing and utility assistance, healthand medical needs, free tax preparation, legal assistance, and more.
