With the school year ending, many kids may be left without consistent nutrition options over the summer. According to Feeding America, 13.4% of Larimer County residents are food insecure, meaning they lack enough food for a healthy life. With over 1,000 students in Larimer County considered homeless, there is not doubt that many of them are food insecure also. The good news is, there are programs to help with that.
The Food Bank for Larimer County's Kids Cafe program will be serving FREE meals to low-income children ages 3-18 at several locations throughout Fort Collins, Loveland, Estes Park and Wellington. Kids Cafe programs meet at safe and familiar locations where kids can also be involved in educational, recreational and social activities.
