The Enterprise Zone Contribution Tax Credit encourages private donations to programs that create or maintain jobs within the Enterprise Zone area, which is a state-designated area in need of economic growth and diversification. Certain portions of Larimer County are designated as an Enterprise Zone. United Way 2-1-1 has been selected as a contribution project due to its important role in providing direct assistance to community members struggling to find stability.
All donors who make a cash donation gift of $250 or more to United Way 2-1-1 will receive 25% of that amount as a credit against your state tax liability. This tax credit is in addition to the standard Federal and State income tax deductions.
As a Colorado taxpayer, the Enterprise Zone Contribution Tax Credit decreases the amount of taxes you owe and gives you an opportunity to invest in your community. Your contribution, added to others, represents a sizeable and permanent commitment to the ongoing operations of United Way 2-1-1.
To be eligible for the Enterprise Zone Contribution Tax Credit, a minimum one-time contribution of $250 to United Way 2-1-1 is required. Smaller contributions and payroll deduction gifts to 2-1-1 are always welcome, but those would not be eligible for the 25% tax credit.
United Way 2-1-1 is a community connection to services and information that anyone in our community can access. All services are confidential and free of charge. By calling 2-1-1, residents can get help in navigating every day concerns and major life-changing events. 2-1-1's extensive database of local program and resources includes information on crisis hotlines, food and clothing, housing and utility assistance, aging services, disaster recovery, mental health services, volunteer opportunities, health and medical needs, legal assistance, donation referrals, substance abuse services, and so much more. In times of natural disaster or community crisis, such as the 2012 wildfires and 2013 flooding, 2-1-1 collaborates with emergency responders to provide direct assistance and relief for victims and volunteers.
