To encourage employees in their countries and regions to use their unique skills, passion, and creativity to help improve the quality of life for people in their communities.
Innovation is our business. Making a positive difference is our purpose. We work with the world’s best minds to make good on both. We focus on areas where we can make the biggest impact: education, entrepreneurship, health, and community involvement.
HPE encourages employees to volunteer because it raises employee productivity by refreshing their enthusiasm about their careers and the education systems that enable their careers. HP allows 8 hours of paid time off (PTO) each month for employees to volunteer in their communities.
Charitable engagement in our communities is one way we help to drive HPE Living Progress - uniting people, ideas, and technology to solve the world's toughest challenges.
Globally, HPE employees volunteered over 6,000 hours of time in 2016.
Here in Fort Collins, CO, we host around 50 middle school girls each year - local middle schools have nominated sixth graders who exhibit excellent math and science skills to attend the camp. We will host this day-long camp at the HPE Fort Collins site to celebrate teh achievements of these students.
Over the last ten years, we've helped show more than 500 girls that careers in math and science don't have to be boring, in fact, they require a lot of imagination, creativity, and confidence. We've repeatedly seen girls come away from the camp energized to continue learning about math and science. We couldn't do it without our great HPE volunteers!
Locally, we helped on numerous occasions including leading projects for National Volunteer Month and Make a Difference Day. From an HPE wide standpoint, we volunteer in countries all around the world.
