Tell us a little bit about yourself (your family, occupation, how long you’ve lived in Larimer County, etc.).
I was born and raised in Casper Wyoming. I am a very proud Wyomingite, but feel equally as proud to say I live in Colorado! My husband and I have lived in Larimer County for seven years and are happy residents of Wellington Colorado. Wellington offers a plethora of space our two doggies Sonny and Baran to run and play, as well as gives us the perks of living in a small town community. I work at Kaiser Permanente in the Community Relations Department. Kaiser Permanente is passionate about giving back to the communities we serve, and my position allows me to work with local non-profits to help Kaiser's strategic goals to create safer, healthier communities.
What are you passionate about?
I'm passionate about a lot of things, especially when it comes to giving back to our community. Food insecurity is growing to be one of the issues that pull at my heartstrings the most, alongside many other issues around human services. I'm also passionate about helping the Wellington community grow. I sit on the Parks Advisory Board in Wellington to help create fun and safe places for kids and adults to play.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy spending time with family, friends and playing outdoors. I also dabble in photography, so you'll often find me with a camera in hand joking around trying to get everyone to smile and laugh for a cheesy photo! I also love being an aunt, so some of the best weekends are spending time with my nephew and watching his crazy fun personality continue to grow.
What is your dream for Larimer County?
I dream of a community where everyone has access to food, affordable housing, access to healthcare and so many other things. We live in a forward-thinking community where everyone is doing great work. We are passionate! Our community has moved mountains on many issues, and I look forward to future efforts that will make this community rise above the rest.
How long have you been a member of Generation United?
I've been a member of Generation United for close to two years and sit on the Generation United Steering Committee. I'm also a proud United Way of Larimer County donor for seven years.
Why do you think it’s important for young professionals in Larimer County to give back?
It's important because they are innovative, passionate and incredibly collaborative. This type of passion and collaboration has proven to create positive lasting change in our community. In many cases, young professionals have fresh perspectives and ideas needed to create the platform for engaging discussions and synergy. They are also some of the first to raise their hand to work on a topic, volunteer and dedicate resources to solving issues or creating something new and engaging for the community.
Why do you choose to support your community through Generation United and United Way?
United Way of Larimer County is a staple nonprofit organization in our community. They understand the community and where help is needed most. United Way of Larimer County and Generation United look ahead, and work with all entities of the community to tackle hard issues and create positive change for everyone in Larimer County. They do all of this while also helping create solutions around basic needs issues that our underserved population faces daily.
