We had a great time at Loveland LIVES UNITED! on August 29th at the beautiful Rialto Theater Center in downtown Loveland.
Longtime Loveland resident and United Way staff member, Scott Sprague, opened the short program by welcoming everyone and sharing how he Lives United. Attendees also heard from United Way Board President Nick Christensen, United Way campaign chair Suzanne Peterson, and United Way President and CEO Gordan Thibedeau.
The most memorable moment of the night was listening to Ashley Hood share her inspiring journey from poverty to self-sufficiency. As a teenager growing up in Loveland, Ashley lived in poverty and near-homelessness. Through incredible strength and perseverance, Ashley was able to earn both a bachelor's degree and master's degree, and is now working full-time as a social worker with Banner Health McKee Medical Center.
Ashley credits our generous community, and the support she received from nonprofits like United Way, for helping her break the cycle of poverty and build a better life for her and her children. Thank you, Ashley, for sharing your inspiring story!
What a great night! We really enjoyed connecting with many longtime United Way supporters in Loveland and meeting new friends. Thanks to all who were able to join us.
