With the prevalence of the brewing industry in Colorado, it's no surprise that Anheuser-Busch is one of United Way of Larimer County's top supporters. The organization generated more than $150,000 for the 2014-15 campaign year, earning it a spot among the top 10 campaigns of the year.
However, it takes more than a great campaign to earn United Way's Spirit of Giving recognition, which was awarded to three organizations, including Anheuser-Busch, at the annual Campaign Appreciation Social in February.
“The employees at Anheuser-Busch continue to inspire us by their generosity and commitment to helping those in need,” said Keely Mendicino, Vice President of Resource Development for United Way of Larimer County during the award presentation.
It could be this commitment to improving the lives of children and families in Larimer County that inspired them to host the inaugural Bud Bier Run to benefit United Way.
To mark the historic opening of The Biergarten, and raise money for United Way of Larimer County, Anheuser-Busch hosted its first Budweiser Bier Run/Walk/Bike event in Fort Collins on Saturday, April 11. The 10K event began at the United Way office, just north of Old Town, and finished at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery.
After the run, participants and volunteers were treated to complimentary beer and a ShockTop pancake breakfast. Later in the day, Katie Rippel, Senior Brewmaster for the Fort Collins Brewery for Anheuser-Busch (left) and Tracy Stetzinger, Assistant Supervisor of Experiential Marketing at Anheuser-Busch (right) presented Gordan Thibedeau (center), President and CEO of United Way of Larimer County with a check for the proceeds of the event. The event featured approximately 450 participants and volunteers and generated $5,000 for United Way.
Anheuser-Busch has more than 450 employees in Larimer County and has raised more than $1.8 million for United Way since 2004.
A huge thank you goes out to Anheuser-Busch for their support ofUnited Way and our community!
