In addition to providing power services to communities along the Front Range, Platte River Power Authority has been putting a lot of energy into supporting children and families in our community through their United Way employee giving campaign!
United Way representatives presented at two monthly business meetings. In addition, an individual from the community shared her story of how the partners and programs of United Way helped her through her journey to self-sufficiency. The head of Platte River Power Authority, Jackie Sargent, also shared a personal testimony about her support of United Way.
The company organized a number of special events to raise awareness about United Way among its more than two hundred employees and keep the campaign top of mind. They kicked off their campaign this summer with a pancake breakfast and also hosted a potluck lunch. Knowing the power of food to bring people together, the campaign committee also organized the sale of breakfast burritos, ice cream, candy and cookies.
To continue the fun, employees also organized a “closest to the pin” golf chip shot contest at both the Platte River Power Authority headquarters in Fort Collins and the Rawhide Energy Station in Wellington.
Overall, their fun-powered campaign paid off, with employee participation increasing by 17 percent and total employee giving increasing by 16 percent.
