How to Apply for Funding

United Way of Larimer County seeks to partner with nonprofit organizations that provide services that meet basic needs for residents of Larimer County.

 

Eligibility

To be considered for partnership an agency must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a nonprofit, 501(C) (3) tax-exempt health and human service organization
  • Serve clients in Larimer County
  • Have a volunteer Board of Directors guiding the organization within the Larimer County service area
  • Have an annual audit (for annual revenues of over $250,000) or independent financial review (for annual revenues of less than $250,000)
  • Provide a service that addresses at least one of the United Way of Larimer County’s desired community outcomes.

Prior to selection as a United Way of Larimer County partner, agencies undergo a thorough evaluation by community volunteers.  Partner agencies are held to the highest standards of performance throughout the granting period.

 

Partnership

As a partner agency you will receive a contract to fund your selected program for the period of July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2012.  The amount of the funding contract will depend upon the results of United Way of Larimer County’s annual fundraising campaign.  United Way of Larimer County partner agencies are recognized as agencies of the highest quality and effectiveness.

As a partner agency you will contribute to the partnership by the following:

  • Participating in United Way of Larimer County’s campaign by providing speakers, conducting agency tours, and writing letters of support
  • Conducting an internal United Way of Larimer County fundraising campaign
  • Displaying evidence of your United Way  of Larimer County partnership on-site
  • Participating in co-marketing efforts
  • Completion of performance reports twice per year and hosting a site visit once per year
  • Agency Director attendance at quarterly meetings.

Goal and Topic Areas

The purpose of United Way of Larimer County’s Solid Foundations Fund is to ensure that services that meet basic needs exist in Larimer County.  Volunteers have defined the goal of Solid Foundations Fund as:

 

“Every individual has their basic needs of survival and safety met.”

 

They also determined topic areas that support this goal.  Volunteers with expertise in these topic areas established the funding priorities of/for each topic area.  The Topic Areas and services United Way of Larimer County is seeking to fund through the Solid Foundations Fund are found on the attached document.

Funding Process

We are currently in the selection process for programs to fund during the funding cycle 2009-2012 from the Solid Foundations Fund. The goal of the fund is that “Every individual has their basic needs of survival and safety met.”
