We Recruit Volunteers for Agencies
The Volunteer Center Program creates a healthier, more connected community by promoting the ethic of service and being the central resource for volunteerism through collaborations.
Here are some ways United Way’s Volunteer Center can help recruit volunteers for your program.
- Promote your information through VUnit, our online volunteer opportunity search engine. To log into your V-Unit account, contact Margaret Watson (email@example.com) for your user ID. For a copy of the V-Unit Agency Manual, click here.
- List your volunteer opportunities and one-time event volunteer needs on our website and in our newsletters. To include your information in these resources, please submit your information to VUnit and our staff will determine where your needs will be promoted.
- Through our Board Bank program, volunteers are trained and placed in nonprofit Board of Director positions according to the needs of the nonprofit and also the skill set and interest of the volunteers. Contact Jessica Thrasher to register your organization.
- Register volunteer projects for Make A Difference Day! This year’s Make A Difference Day will take place October 20-26, 2014. You will add your project through your V-Unit account and volunteers will begin signing up for projects on September 9, 2014. Contact Margaret Watson for more information.
