Serve on a Nonprofit Board of Directors – Training Available
United Way’s Volunteer Center recruits and trains community professionals to serve as board and committee members for nonprofit organizations. Through its Board Bank program, the Center matches volunteers’ interests with a variety of board opportunities, and assist in matching volunteers with the needs of local nonprofits. Currently, there are more than 40 nonprofits in Larimer County that need skilled, passionate and enthusiastic volunteers to serve on their boards of directors.
Next training date:
May 1, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Good Samaritan Society, 508 W. Trilby Road, Fort Collins.
Board Bank trainings are held quarterly. All interested volunteers looking to serve on a board are encouraged to attend. The cost of the training is $25 and includes an overview of the expectations and general policies of serving on a Board of Directors, provides the volunteer with a book on the basic responsibilities of a board member, and allows the volunteer to learn more about possible nonprofits to be paired with. Space is limited.
