When the weather becomes warmermany people may choose to set up camp in natural areas throughout the community rather than stay in a homeless shelter. While this offers a temporary solution for some individuals, they are missing the opportunity to access resources and assistance. They arealso increasing their risk of receiving a citation from law enforcement for camping illegally within city limits, as discussed in a recent Coloradoan news article.
Below are a few local Larimer County resources for day resource centers andovernight shelters ---
Day Resource Centers:These locations offer a wide variety of services for families or individuals that are homeless or facing homelessness. Case managers work with clients to connect them with appropriate community resources that fit their needs. They also offer important resources such asshowers, laundry, mail services, voice mail, and computer access.
Sister Mary Alice Murphy Center for Hope-- Fort Collins
137 Homeless Connection --Loveland
Fort Collins Rescue Mission -- Available for single men and women.
Catholic Charities Overnight Shelter -- Available to single men and women as well as families with children.
