WomenGive created the Emergency Assistance Fund as a means to respond to unforeseen circumstances involving basic needs for recipients of the WomenGive Scholarship
while in the WomenGive program. The purpose of this fund is to meet unanticipated needs that cannot be resolved through alternative community resources and assist with a circumstance that
requires an immediate response.
The Emergency Assistance Fund is intended to be used as a “last resort” option, one that does not duplicate existing assistance programs. The Emergency Assistance is intended as a
resource that helps the recipient stay in school and complete the requirements for the semester in which they are enrolled.
The following requirements must be met before the committee will approve funding:
· Applicant must be a current WomenGive scholarship recipient.
· Applicant must have available funding. The maximum emergency assistance funding is $800 per semester.
· Applicant must show that they have consulted with a community advisor to identify community resources.
· Application must be completed in its entirety, with supporting documentation attached.
In your email, please describe the scenario you are requesting assistance for and what additional resources you have already explored.
After discussion with the WomenGive Program Manager, a formal application will be provided that includes short-form questions, invoices or additional material requests, and is reviewed by
the WomenGive Manager or Project Self-Sufficiency Advisor.
Approval of Emergency Assistance is determined by the WomenGive Core Committee. Please allow up to seven business days for processing.
