What are the changes?
In the beginning of July, our 2-1-1 hotline - a free and confidential information and referral service available for all Larimer County residents - will be provided out of Mile High United Way as part of a statewide Colorado 2-1-1 system.
What does this mean?
The 2-1-1 phone number, along with the alternate (970) 407-7066 and 1-800-485-0211 numbers, will automatically redirect to a United Way team member in Denver. They will be able to respond to your questions and will give you the appropriate help and support you need by connecting you with resources in Larimer County.
Why is this partnership happening?
As we continue to provide 2-1-1 support in Larimer County, it has become clear that there's a need for both comprehensive and efficient resource sharing. By teaming up with Mile High United Way in Denver, we can still provide assistance to anyone in Larimer County, while also improving efficiency within our organization.
The transition from United Way of Larimer County in Fort Collins to Mile High United Way will be closely monitored to ensure a smooth transition, and to ensure that Larimer County residents are supported through 2-1-1 and that community needs continue to be met.
What happens if there is a disaster in Larimer County?
You can still call 2-1-1 for help! While the service centers are being consolidated in Denver, the services provided still cover Larimer County.
In addition, we are now hiring a 2-1-1 Community Liaison that will provide coordination for disaster related activities and will work out of our Fort Collins office.
