Having trouble accessing affordable prescriptions and you aren’t quite sure where to look? What if there was a way for you to receive free prescription discount cards through your workplace?
FamilyWize is a company that sets up workplace accounts for businesses who want their employees to access medications at a lower rate.
“FamilyWize acts like a big buying group, pulling together millions of people that either have no health insurance (the uninsured), have high medication costs, or need to buy medicine not covered by their plan (the underinsured),” according to the FamilyWize website.
The process is quite simple. Once your workplace signs up for an account, you can simply print out a free card, bring the prescription card into their nearest pharmacist, and ask them for the best prices available with the FamilyWize card.
After signing up, you can access prescriptions and the resources you need at a lower rate, taking away some of the stresses of not being able to afford medications.
It acts as a discounts-only card. Simply show the card to the pharmacist when looking for the cheapest prescription needed, and the Pharmacist will inform you of what they offer.
According to FamilyWize, the Prescription Savings Card:
After receiving your prescription savings card, FamilyWize offers a downloadable free eGuide on how the card works, tips for safe medication, avoiding harmful interactions, and smart tips for saving on prescription costs.
FamilyWize also provides a free, downloadable Medicine Cabinet User Guide that allows you to price-search for the medications you need, while providing you with the lowest prices. It also allows you to save prescriptions for the future to see what the price match is compared to other prescriptions. “With the FamilyWize Medicine Cabinet, you can store all of your family’s prescription information in one secure location, easily comparing costs and finding the right pharmacy to meet your needs,” says the FamilyWize blog.
FamilyWize also provides a list of resources for food assistance, utilities, low cost or free services, and United way’s 2-1-1 services. These resources are provided based on your state, and are available 24/7 online.
If you think that you or others in your workplace would benefit from this great opportunity, visit the FamilyWize website at http://www.familywize.org/ for your free cards and more information.
