Leah Johnson, a Generation United steering committee member and Charter Member, highlighted a few accomplishments of Generation United over the last year:
With Generation United's support, 27 local teens had the opportunity to learn more about the benefits of college through the College Visitation and Business Connections program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County.
Generation United supported Partners Mentoring Youth's Community Based Mentoring Program. The Community Based Mentoring Program promotes positive youth development through mentoring. The cost to support one youth for one year is $1,500 and Generation United was able to invest $8,000 into this program.
In its first year, Generation United recruited 63 members and raised $16,000
Generation United members and supporters also lent their hands as volunteers in the community. They helped paint Partners Mentoring Youth's reception area and spruce up the grounds at Turning Point.
