Thank You to Larimer County for School Supply Programs
I, like so many others have been positively impacted by thegiftof school supplies. I remember the first time I heard about the School Supply Programs for low-income families over 10 years ago, I was a single-parent with 4 children, all of whom were in school. I had a good job but after purchasing clothing and shoes for them, school supplies would have to wait for the next pay day. A friend of mine mentioned there was help. I remember the relief I felt sending my children off to school with the things they needed, I was so grateful. What I didn't realize at the time was how important it was to them and their learning as well. A little confidence can go a long way. Today in Larimer County, the story still rings true for many. Some families have been struggling for a while, some families maybe looking for help for the first time. Now coming from a School Supply Program Volunteer, let's be sensitive to the needs of our children and families this school year and be intentional about the ways we can contribute to their educational success.
