About Us

Our Mission

We mobilize the caring power of our community to support the success of all children and youth in Larimer County.

OUR VISION

A larimer county where all children and youth have everything they need to thrive.

We support children and youth success through four building blocks:

  • Family Financial Stability
  • Kindergarten Readiness
  • Reading at Grade Level
  • High School Graduation

Our Core Values

Trust

We build trust through transparency, reliability, and shared leadership.
We earn trust by following through, being transparent in our decisions, and embedding community voice in everything we do. Whether through clear communication with donors or flexible funding for partners, trust is the foundation of strong relationships and lasting change.

What this looks like:

  • Transparent financials and decision-making with donors and partners
  • Clear, honest communication about commitments and plans for impact
  • Community hub advisory councils that guide community hub programming and investments
  • Reliable systems and practices that reflect operational excellence in service of our mission
Partnership

We prioritize long-term relationships rooted in shared goals, respect, and mutual accountability.
Partnership for us means more than collaboration — it’s about co-creating solutions with those closest to the challenge, honoring lived experience, and investing time and resources in ways that reflect shared purpose and mutual growth.

What this looks like:

  • Designing programs with communities, not for them
  • Building strong relationships across teams to stay aligned and responsive
  • Following up and closing the loop with donors, partners, and community members
  • Being clear about roles, responsibilities, and how decisions get made
Equity

We focus on expanding opportunity, closing disparity gaps, and ensuring that each and every child can thrive.
Equity guides every decision we make — from who receives funding to how we structure programs. We center those most affected by systemic barriers and work to remove those barriers at the root.

What this looks like:

  • Funding and support for under-resourced, community-led organizations
  • Inclusive services designed with and for the communities they serve
  • Equitable access to child care, literacy, education, and more
Freedom

We support dignity, autonomy, and the freedom to self-determine.
Freedom means more than removing barriers. It means creating the conditions for people to make meaningful choices. Whether it’s a donor directing their gift, a nonprofit allocating resources, or a parent deciding what’s best for their child, we believe people are the experts in their own lives. Our role is to ensure the flexibility, resources, and respect that make self-determination possible.

What this looks like:

  • Facilitating donor-directed giving, so every donor can invest in the causes they care about most
  • Providing flexible cash assistance to single mothers through WomenGive, so they can use the funds in whatever way best supports their family.
  • Funding nonprofit infrastructure, so partners can focus on impact — not red tape
  • Offering flexible schedules and hybrid work options that support staff autonomy and well-b

Our Focus Areas

Family Financial Stability

When families are stable, children thrive. We fund programs like the Larimer Child Care Fund and WomenGive, making child care affordable so parents can work and study. Together, these programs helped more than 140 families access quality care and move toward lasting financial stability.

Reading At Grade Level

Reading by third grade is a critical milestone for lifelong learning yet too many students still fall behind. Through Colorado Reading Corps and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library thousands of children are building literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading.

Kindergarten Readiness

Early learning builds the foundation for lifelong success. Early Childhood Navigators at The Family Center/La FamiliaThe Matthews House, and EVICS connect parents to child care, parenting support, and resources that help children start school ready to learn.

High School Graduation

Graduation opens doors to opportunity. By investing in school district partnerships, the Loveland Youth Campus, and the Community Impact Center, we’re helping teens stay engaged, supported, and on track to graduate. In Estes Park alone, 65% of students who received United Way funded tutoring improved their grades last year.

36,000

Larimer County residents that live in poverty,
including 9% of children under age 18 and 7% of residents age 65+.

16%

of Larimer County students don’t graduate on time.
Mentoring is a proven way for kids to improve their grades.

90%

of brain development occurs by age five,
and kindergarten readiness is a key indicator of life-long academic success.

47.7%

Only 47.7% of jobs in Larimer County can sustain a family of four.
