We celebrated local Child Care Champions working to increase equity, access, and affordability of high-quality early education in our community. Proceeds will benefit the Child Care Fund, providing scholarships for child care across the county.

THE LARIMER COUNTY CHILD CARE FUND

United Way of Larimer County (UWLC) prioritizes access to high-quality, affordable child care in our community. With the average cost of early care exceeding $1200 per child, per month, providing financial support to families with low to moderate incomes is essential to ensure a healthy workforce, that child care is affordable and high quality, and the youngest children are prepared for school and succeed academically. This investment produces significant returns on both the economic and social health of our entire community.

Since its inception in late 2020, The Child Care Fund has distributed nearly half a million dollars to county child care centers and their families. Larimer County government’s $300,000 of Coronavirus Relief Funds was a major part of the initial distribution. The Child Care Fund increases access to high-quality care by closing the gap between a family’s ability to pay and the amount charged by a provider.
