United Way of Larimer County (UWLC) is excited to celebrate 2022 Cornerstone Partner, Woodward, as part of a year-long series highlighting companies giving back in our community. Every year, United Way of Larimer County mobilizes community members and corporate partners to give back during Days of Service. National Volunteer Month (April) and Make a Difference Day (October) help build capacity at local nonprofits, strengthen community ties, and support Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. UWLC staff connected with Woodward to learn more about their corporate volunteerism commitment and what drives their culture of giving.

What drives Woodward’s commitment to corporate responsibility and giving?

At Woodward, we deliver solutions that change the world for the better, and that same mindset also drives us to make a difference in our local communities. We cultivate a spirit of giving, encouraging our members to engage and volunteer within their communities.

Woodward is proud to be part of the people and organizations from across Larimer County who are working together to solve important issues like affordable housing, job training, and access to quality childcare.  We support United Way because of the support this organization provides for people in need today while also creating stronger foundations for tomorrow.

How do Woodward employees benefit from volunteering and giving back?

Woodward members are leaders in their communities. Volunteering and giving back are ways our members can make their mark in our communities. One Woodward member, Lisa, volunteers at Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and shared “I’m a CASA because I’m at a stage in life where I have the time to give back to others. It’s a privilege to know that the time I spend with my foster child, can help reshape her life in a positive way. “

We foster an environment within Woodward that encourages all members to support their community by volunteering their individual time and talents by sponsoring and organizing team events for our membership to act on their passion for volunteerism.

What suggestions does Woodward have for other companies seeking to get involved in corporate social responsibility and volunteerism?

Join us! It takes many hands and voices to make a difference in our community. It’s in the hearts of Woodward members and our Woodward Constitution. Together, Woodward members foster a spirit of volunteerism and personal generosity.
